This is the era of franchise cricket. Many cricketers forget about the country and the team and dive into franchise cricket in the illusion of so much money. But Bangladesh cricketer Towhid Hridoy is sacrificing the Lanka Premier League (LPL) for the country.

The young batter of Bangladesh is having a great time in the ongoing season of LPL. He is not only dominating the opponent's bowlers with a healthy strike-rate, but also bringing success to the team. He even became the highest run-scorer of the tournament. However, playing in a franchise league for the first time, Hridoy has to come back midway.

A source of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said that Hridoy has received a no-objection letter (NOC) from BCB till August 8. Accordingly, he will return to Bangladesh from Sri Lanka on August 9. Hridoy will join the conditioning camp that has started for the Asia Cup back home.

The 22-year-old cricketer was brought in by Jaffna Kings instead of Shoaib Malik. Malik was busy in Canada's Global T20 League. That league is over, Malik is back in Sri Lanka. But with the form Hridoy is in, Jaffna wanted him to stay with the team for the rest of the tournament.

However, the batter who won the World Cup for Bangladesh in 2020 for the under-19 team did not apply to the board to extend the period of the NOC. So Jaffna are not getting him throughout the season.

However, he will return after playing some more matches for Jaffna. There is no doubt that the number of matches would have been much higher if not for the Asia Cup and World Cup camps.
