The Pakistan Super League has a new name, and cricket fans from Bangladesh will be proud of it.  The young leg-spinner from Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain, had an amazing start for Lahore Qalandars. He took three important wickets and helped his team beat Quetta Gladiators by 89 runs.

Lahore got to bat first after losing the toss and scored a huge 219 for 6 in 20 overs.  Fifties from Fakhar Zaman and Sam Billings, as well as useful assists from Abdullah Shafique and Daryl Mitchell, were the building blocks.  Last but not least, Rishad added to the score with a run off of one ball.

But Rishad really stood out when he played ball.  He came into the game as the fifth bowler in the seventh over and got rid of the dangerous Rilee Rossouw in his second over. Rossouw had scored 44 runs off of just 19 balls.  Rishad bowled him out with a beautifully flighted delivery, which swung the game in Lahore's favour.

He then caught Abrar Ahmed and claimed Mohammad Amir, who had also been bowled. At the end of his turn, he had 3 for 31 in 4 overs, which was the best bowling line for his team in the game.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Shaheen Afridi was all praise for Rishad. “When we picked Rishad today, we wanted to take a bowler who takes wickets in the middle overs, Wiese unfortunately had some niggles and Rishad was the best option as Asif Afridi was bowling with the new-ball,” the Lahore skipper said.
