Mayank Yadav, one of the quickest bowlers in Indian cricket history, has recovered from injury and is set to report to the Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday, April 15
Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mayank Yadav will join the team on Tuesday. He will likely be fit to play in LSG's match on Saturday in Jaipur against Rajasthan Royals.
Even though the franchise had signed Mayank for Rs 11 crore, the fast bowler was not yet ready for the new season and had to carry on his recovery at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence. But, as per the report, he has received the all-clear and the franchise now has the onus of deciding on him playing in the IPL.
Mayank Yadav was in CoE with a lumbar spine injury. He was expected to recover by the second week of April, but his recovery was also delayed due to his toe injury. Langer had opened about Mayank's injury at the beginning of the season, disclosing that the pacer hurt his toe by kicking his bed accidentally.
Mayank's return to the side would be a massive boost to a side which has played well considering its comparatively modest resources. Earlier in the season, LSG recruited Shardul Thakur as a cover player, who has also played well until now. But Shardul replaced left-hander Mohsin Khan.
Mayank played just four games for LSG in the previous season and was among the five players retained in the team prior to the mega-auction.
