The battle for supremacy in the Dhaka Premier League 2024–25 is heating up as the Super League phase is all set to begin on April 17. Though the two arch-rivals, Abahani Limited and Mohammedan Sporting Club, ended the group stage tied on points, fans hoping for an early showdown between them will have to wait a little longer. The tournament organizers have decided to schedule the high-voltage clash in the later rounds of the Super League.
Alongside Abahani and Mohammedan, Gazi Group Cricketers, Gulshan Cricket Club, Agrani Bank Cricket Club, and Legends of Rupganj have qualified for the six-team Super League round.
April 17 (Round 1):
Mohammedan vs Legends of Rupganj
Abahani vs Agrani Bank
Gazi Group vs Gulshan Club
April 20 (Round 2) after rest days on April 18–19:
Mohammedan vs Agrani Bank
Abahani vs Gulshan
Gazi Group vs Rupganj
April 23 (Round 3) after rest days on April 21–22:
Mohammedan vs Gulshan
Abahani vs Gazi Group
Agrani Bank vs Rupganj
Although only the first three rounds have been announced so far, the fourth round is likely to be held on April 26, following a break on April 24–25.
The matches will take place across two venues — the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur and BKSP Grounds 3 and 4 in Savar. All games will be televised live on T Sports, bringing the cricketing drama to fans across the country.
Abahani and Mohammedan both finished with 18 points, but Abahani topped the table courtesy of a superior net run rate. Gazi Group secured third place with 16 points, followed by Gulshan CC (15 points), Agrani Bank (14 points), and Rupganj (13 points).
Surprisingly, traditional powerhouses like Prime Bank Cricket Club and Dhanmondi Cricket Club failed to make it to the Super League this year, opening the door for some fresh competition at the top.
