Nicholas Pooran the power-hitting West Indies batter and one of the most dangerous players in IPL 2025 continues to be troubled by one ma DC Mitchell Starc. The Australian national cricket team left-arm seamer once again got the better of Pooran during the Delhi Capitals (DC) vs Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) clash in Match 40 of the tournament.

Batting first, LSG were cruising at 89/1 after 10 overs but a quick collapse saw them slide to 110/4 by the 14th. The turning point? Mitchell Starc’s dismissal of Pooran on just the second ball of the 12th over.

Brought into the attack by DC skipper Axar Patel Starc made an immediate impact. He delivered a deceptive slower short ball from over the wicket angling in sharply to the left-hander. Pooran went for the pull shot but misjudged the pace and dragged it onto his stumps off the bottom edge. It was yet another instance of Starc winning this fascinating head-to-head.

With this wicket Mitchell Starc has now dismissed Pooran five times in seven T20 meetings conceding just 12 runs off 14 balls in those encounters. Among left-arm pacers only Obed Mccoy has dismissed Pooran as many times (5) in the format.

Despite a solid start LSG lost momentum after Pooran’s dismissal. The middle-order slump limited them to a total of 159/6 in their 20 overs.
