As Pakistan prepares to play in the highly anticipated World Cup 2024, all eyes are on captain Babar Azam, who is confident in his team's solid preparation. Speaking to the media in Dallas, Babar highlighted the squad's strategic approach and adaptability to changing conditions.
"We have come to the USA with good preparations," Babar affirmed, underscoring the team's comprehensive training regimen. With a focus on both indoor batting drills and outdoor bowling sessions, the team ensures a well-rounded preparation for the challenges ahead.
Babar further highlighted the advantage of having players with prior experience in US conditions. "Some of our players have played here before and are familiar with the conditions. Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim and Haris Rauf have all played here previously," Captain babar added.
"I have confidence in our fast bowling; our fast bowlers have been performing well here. We will try to avoid past mistakes," the talented skipper stated.
"Our World Cup starts the day after tomorrow, and now all senior players need to step up and take responsibility. My sole target is to win the World Cup; individual achievements come later. My focus is on what the team needs from me, not on personal records," he emphasised.
Babar and Co. will kick off their T20 WC campaign against co-hosts USA on June 6. They will face arch-rival India on June 9 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.
