Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami had a terrible night on Saturday in IPL 2025. Against Punjab Kings, he conceded 75 runs in four overs without taking a single wicket, which is one of the worst bowling performances in the history of the event.

The game took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Punjab Kings launched a brutal batting attack.  The huge score was built by a strong top order that included Prabhsimran Singh, Priyansh Arya, and captain Shreyas Iyer, who hit 82 off of 36 balls.

Even better, Marcus Stoinis hit 34 off of just 11 balls in the last few overs, which helped Punjab reach 245/6 in their 20 overs.

Mohammed Shami was given the job of stopping the attack and ended up being punished over and over again.  This is how his bowling spell looked:  14 runs in the first over.  In the third over, he was hit for three sixes and conceded 23 runs. In the thirteenth over, he conceded 11 runs, and in the twentieth over, Marcus Stoinis hit Shami for four sixes and Shami conceded 27 runs.

He conceded 75 runs in total, which is the second-worst spell by a bowler in IPL history and the worst by any Indian bowler in the league. The words bowling figure was registered by Jofra Archer, that too was also in this year's IPL.
