The Sunrisers Hyderabad absolutely lit up the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday night with a show that fans won’t forget anytime soon. Chasing a huge target of 246 runs Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head stepped up in a big way during Match 27 of IPL 2025 against Punjab Kings.

Abhishek Sharma was simply on fire. The left-hander smashed 100 runs off just 40 balls hitting boundaries like it was a video game. His fearless batting left the PBKS bowlers helpless and the crowd stunned.

While Abhishek went after the spinners, Travis Head was equally deadly against the pacers. He scored 66 off 37 balls, playing the perfect second fiddle early on and later accelerating when needed.

Together, the two added a jaw-dropping 171-run stand in just 12.2 overs—one of the best opening partnerships of the season.

Former Aussie batter Matthew Hayden couldn’t stop praising the pair during his appearance on JioHotstar.

"They were unbelievable—it was absolutely Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head’s day. Everything went their way. The only early opportunity came when Yash Thakur bowled a no-ball, but once that moment passed, you could sense they were going to go hard. As a batter, when those moments go in your favour, you just feel like—this could be my day. You keep flirting with danger, but when it keeps working, it reinforces that belief. You start playing with confidence and conviction, and that’s when innings like this happen. Truly, this was just unbelievable,”

He went on to highlight the chemistry between the two at the top:
