Litton Das had high hopes when he went to Pakistan.  He had a full No Objection Certificate (NOC), approval from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), and time off from playing for his country. Everything was set up for him to play the whole Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.  But fate had other ideas.

An injury that happened too soon kept him out of the event before he even got to the pitch. He had to go home without playing a single game.

Speaking to the media at the Dhaka airport after arriving, a visibly disappointed Litton said, "I couldn’t bring anything back from there. It feels like I lost more than I gained. The injury was a major setback."

Despite the disappointment, the wicketkeeper-batter tried to keep things in perspective, "Some things are beyond our control. What’s written in destiny, we just have to accept. I believe it’s important to accept whatever God has written for you."

This isn't the first time bad luck has interrupted Litton’s overseas franchise journey. Previously in the IPL, he returned home after playing just one match. This time in the PSL, he didn’t even get that chance.

“It’s just bad luck, I guess,” Litton admitted. “When I went there, I genuinely thought I’d play the whole tournament. I’m thankful to the BCB for allowing me to be there. But in life, sometimes you just need a little bit of luck. To get the full opportunity to play in a league like the PSL and still return without playing a game—it’s disappointing.”
