got out by scoring just 14 runs. Then David Warner and Shaun Marsh made a timely partnership of 64 runs. Warner and Marsh looked promising but they both got out inside their individual 50. Warner scored 43 runs off 55 balls and Marsh scored 30 runs off 44 balls. Then it was all about Steve Smith’s show. Smith played a crushing 116-run innings off just 102 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes. With Smith’s century and a little cameo from the wicket-keeper Alex Carey helped Australia to reach the near 300-mark as they managed to get 297 runs in 50 overs. Carey scored 30 runs off 14 balls. Liam Plunkett was the standout bowler for England by picking 4 wickets. Chasing the target of 298 runs, England were struggling from the beginning at the top of the order without the likes of Joe Root and the regular captain Eoin Morgan. Exception was James Vince, who played a good knock of 64 runs off 76 balls. Then captain Jos Buttler scored a quick-fire 52 off 31 balls with five fours and three sixes to make sure the win for his team.
