Every IPL season brings a new name into the spotlight and Vipraj Nigam is the latest to grab attention! The 20-year-old all-rounder played a crucial role in Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals’ thrilling one-wicket victory over Rishab Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025.

Hailing from Uttar Pradesh Vipraj is a right-handed batsman and a leg-spin bowler. He first made waves in the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, picking up eight wickets at an economy rate of just over seven. His batting ability was on display in a crucial match against Andhra where he smashed 27 runs off just eight balls helping Uttar Pradesh chase down a 157-run target. 

His standout performances continued in the UPT20 League 2024 where he played for Lucknow Falcons. Vipraj took 20 wickets in 11 innings, maintaining an economy rate of 7.45. His performances caught the attention of IPL scouts leading Delhi Capitals to secure him for ₹50 lakh in the mega auction in Jeddah.

Before the IPL season began Vipraj made an impact in a DC intra-squad match, where he smashed 54 runs off 29 balls including seven fours and two sixes. This form carried into his IPL debut where he had a mixed outing with the ball conceding 35 runs in 2 overs while picking up one wicket. But it was his explosive 39 off 15 balls that turned the game for Delhi playing a key role in their dramatic win over LSG.
