New Zealand National Cricket Team wrapped up the T20I series against Pakistan National Cricket Team with a dominant eight-wicket win in the final match at Sky Stadium, Wellington. The Kiwis took the series 4-1 thanks to a breathtaking knock from Tim Seifert who smashed an unbeaten 97 off just 38 balls.

Opting to bat first Pakistan had a nightmare start losing quick wickets. At 52-5, they were in deep trouble before skipper Salman Agha (51 off 39) and Shadab Khan (28 off 20) put up a fight with a 54-run stand.

New Zealand’s bowlers were all over Pakistan. Jimmy Neesham was the pick of the lot, taking a career-best 5-22. Jacob Duffy (2-18) also made early inroads dismissing Hasan Nawaz and Omair Yousuf. Despite the late resistance, Pakistan could only manage 128-9 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 129 Blackcaps wasted no time. Seifert came out with an aggressive mindset smashing 18 runs in the first over. He continued his onslaught scoring a blistering 97 off 38 balls taking the game away in no time. The chase was wrapped up in just 10 overs as New Zealand comfortably sealed the series.

Here Is The Post-Match Reactions PAK vs NZ 5th T20I

Tim Seifert, Player of the Series

"There was only one way to play. I wanted to play the way I wanted to play. The wickets were bouncy. Tonight, few shots got me away. You look at the match-ups. Finn helped. We have played together. He is a great mate. It is great fun with him. Couple of weeks with the family and then off to the PSL. Few of these players would be my mates there."

Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan Captain

"They were outstanding. They outplayed us in the whole series. There were plenty of positives, though. The way Hasan batted and Haris batted in Auckland. The way Sufiyan bowled today. When we were coming in here, the focus was on the Asia Cup and the World Cup. I did alright. It doesn't matter when you lose the series. Completely different team in the ODIs. More experience. They have played in NZ before. It will be a different ball game."

Michael Bracewell, New Zealand

"The whole bowling unit has been outstanding. Jacob has stood up and has led the pack. The way we have been able to rotate the players. NZ cricket is in a great place. Few guys were missing. The consistency we showed was pleasing. The way we bounced back from Auckland was pleasing. We were clinical in the rest of the four games."

James Neesham, Player of the Match

"You don't get too many wickets in franchise cricket. The opening bowlers helped us. Always a privilege to play for NZ. Always jump in to play for this side. Always keen for the opportunity. More than happy to see the guys at the top to smack it around."
