New Zealand have thrashed Pakistan by 8 wickets to claim the T20I series by 4-1 on Wednesday (March 26). James Neesham shone with a fifer to restrict Pakistan to a paltry 128 runs. In reply, Tim Seifert blasted a sensational 97* to steer the Kiwis home.

Being inserted to bat first, Pakistan had a shaky start as Jacob Duffy had Hasan Nawaz for a three-ball duck and Omair Yusuf after his sedate 7 off 11 balls. Mohammad Haris too had no impact as Pakistan top three were bundled in no time. Skipper Salman Agha stood tall amid the collapse and smashed a super fifty to keep steering his side.

However, James Neesham came in and tore apart the Pakistan middle order in no time. He became the fourth New Zealander to shine with a fifer and restricted Pakistan for a paltry 128 runs.

In reply, Tim Seifert and Finn Allen started off to a flier, adding 92 runs inside the powerplay. The opening stand was brutal and it was broken by Sufiyan Muqeem when Finn Allen was knocked over after his quick-fire cameo of 27 off 12 balls. However, Seifert alone was enough to kill the chase as he shone with an incredible knock of 97* off just 38 deliveries, orchestrating his innings with 10 sixes and 6 boundaries, and helping his side claim 4-1 victory in the T20I series.
