Gujarat Titans' bowler Rashid Khan has joined the elite club of players by becoming the third-fastest bowler to reach 150 wickets in Indian Premier League (IPL) history.
Rashid Khan, who has been a part of the IPL since 2017, has now cemented his place among the league's legendary bowlers. He joins the elite company of Lasith Malinga (who reached the milestone in 105 games) and Yuzvendra Chahal (118 games). The star spinner, having played 122 IPL matches, has consistently showcased his brilliance in T20 cricket. Rashid reached the 150-wicket mark during Gujarat Titans' season opener against Punjab Kings.
Rashid Khan reached this milestone by dismissing Punjab Kings opener Priyansh Arya. Arya was in explosive form, taking on the Gujarat Titans' bowling attack with ease. He had raced to a quickfire 47 off just 23 deliveries, looking dangerous at the crease. However, Rashid, known for his ability to break partnerships at crucial moments, stepped in and struck, sending Arya back to the pavilion and etching his name in IPL history with his 150th wicket.
Rashid Khan finished the match with a rather disappointing figure of 1/48 in his 4 overs.
Gujarat Titans lost their match against Punjab Kings, as they failed to chase down the mammoth total of 244 set by Shreyas Iyer's men.
