The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 has given its approval for Hazratullah Zazai to replace Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the Afghanistan squad. This decision was made following the need for a substitution in the team.
Hazratullah Zazai, known for his explosive batting skills, will be stepping in to fill the spot left vacant by Mujeeb ur Rahman, an essential player for Afghanistan, who is now unable to participate.
Hazratullah Zazai, an experienced player with 43 T20Is under his belt, has been named as a replacement for Mujeeb ur Rahman in the Afghanistan squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Mujeeb was unfortunately ruled out of the tournament due to a significant injury to his right index finger. The Event Technical Committee reviewed the situation and approved Zazai's inclusion.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 consists of Wasim Khan (ICC General Manager – Cricket), Chris Tetley (ICC Head of Events), Johnny Grave (CEO, Cricket West Indies) and Kass Naidoo (Independent Representative).
