South African national cricket team speedster Anrich Nortje is gearing up for his comeback with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the upcoming 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. After being ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a back injury concerns surrounding his fitness persisted. However KKR showed their faith in the pacer by securing him for ₹6.5 crore at the IPL 2025 auction.

This marks Nortje’s second stint with KKR after he was forced to leave in 2019 without playing a match. Expressing his excitement about returning to the team, Nortje said, “KKR was the first to back me and it’s just great to be here (in Kolkata) again. Really excited for things to get going and what a place to be.”

The most important thing for now is just to get the prep done, but nice to take everything in and hopefully build up to a successful season.”
