The defending IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders have roped in Chetan Sakariya as a replacement of fast bowler Umran Malik for IPL 2025.
Chetan Sakariya Umran Malik had been ruled out of the Tata IPL 2025 due to an injury. The speedster had been undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru but he did not receive medical clearance to participate in this season.

Sakariya has previously represented India in one ODI and two T20I's. He also featured in 19 IPL matches under his belt, claiming 20 wickets. The 26-year-old was part of KKR's squad in IPL 2024, where KKR won the IPL title, but he did not feature in any game. Now, he returns to the franchise with an opportunity to make an impact. KKR have fetched in Sakariya for INR 75 lakh.

KKR will begin their journey on the tournament opener against RCB on March 22.
