Harry Tector's remarkable recent streak of success has continued, with the young Irish talent making tremendous strides to climb into the top 10 in the latest MRF Tires ICC Men's ODI Batting Rankings.
Harry Tector, an Irish cricketer, has just risen to the top of the ICC ODI batting rankings. Tector was a key member of the Irish cricket team, contributing important runs and leading the team to triumphs.
Tector posted a career-best 140 in Ireland's recent ODI series against Bangladesh in Chelmsford and the 23-year-old finished as the series' top runs scorer with 206 runs from three exciting performances.
As a result, Tector climbed a whopping 72 rating points and moved into the top 10 in the latest ODI batter rankings, with the in-form youngster now seventh on a star-studded list of some of the best white-ball players in the world, which is still led by Pakistani captain Babar Azam. Tector's 7th place is also Ireland's best with the bat.

The right-hander sits ahead of contemporary talents such as Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Steve Smith, Jos Buttler and Virat Kohli in the latest ranking update, with Harry Tector's new rating of 722 points being the highest by an Irish batsman in the ODI reached cricket.
Eoin Morgan reached 712 in 2019, although he was already representing England by that point. Paul Stirling scored the most points among players who only played for Ireland, reaching 697 in June 2021.
Tector will get a chance to further improve his standings when Ireland take part in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe in June and July and captain Andy Balbirnie believes there is no limit for the youngster.
"He just has all the qualities to go on and become one of the greats of Irish cricket and I hope we can help him along the way and he keeps scoring for us," Balbirnie said recently.
