This day was meant to be a party for Shakib Al Hasan because he turned one year old.  The frightening news that Tamim Iqbal had a huge heart attack, though, made the Bangladesh cricket legend's birthday less important.

Tamim and Shakib have played together for almost twenty years. Despite their past disagreements, Shakib put them aside and asked for wishes for his long-time friend and partner.

Taking to social media, Shakib shared his feelings, saying, "Today is a special day for me, but my heart is not completely happy because my dear teammate and friend, Tamim Iqbal, is unwell. We have fought many battles together on the field, and I always hope our journey continues for a long time."

He further described Tamim as a pillar of Bangladesh cricket, expressing his faith in his recovery. "Tamim, you are one of the biggest strengths of Bangladesh cricket. I am praying for your speedy recovery and return to the field. InshaAllah, you will be back with us very soon."

Shakib then urged everyone to pray for Tamim, saying that their prayers would be the best gift he could receive on his birthday. "The best gift you can give me today is your prayers for my brother Tamim. Please pray that he recovers quickly and returns to the field!"

Earlier, in an exclusive video message to BDCricTime, Shakib reiterated his request, saying, "I hope Tamim recovers soon. Please pray for him and his family so that they can overcome this difficult time."
