Fortune Barishal has built a very strong team in terms of experience and strength. The team has several cricketers who have captained the national team and domestic cricket. There were rumors that Mehidy Hasan Miraz might be given the leadership of Barishal over the seniors. However, coach Mizanur Rahman Babul confirmed that Tamim Iqbal is getting the responsibility of leadership.

Three senior cricketers of the national team – Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah Riyad – will play together in Barishal. There are also cricketers with leadership qualities like Miraz, Shoaib Malik. Who can be given the captaincy in the upcoming BPL could be a sweet problem for Barishal. But above all, the team makes Tamim the captain. 

Barishal's head coach Babul confirmed, “Tamim will be the captain of Barishal. The captaincy is not about match by match. Hopefully, Tamim will captain the team in the entire tournament.”

Tamim recently started batting after recovering from an injury. Coach Babul and Tamim himself are happy to see Tamim's improvement in the last few days of practice.

About Tamim's fitness, Babul added, “I have spoken to Tamim. He said that he is comfortable with batting now, and feels good. He is 100% fit. I think he is in very good condition. He felt good in Mirpur. He is in better shape today.”
