Afghanistan National Cricket Team left-handed batter Hazratullah Zazai is grieving the tragic loss of his daughter. The devastating news was shared by his close friend and national teammate Karim Janat who took to social media to express his deep sorrow and offer condolences to Zazai and his family.

Janat wrote, "I am deeply saddened to share with you all that my close friend like brother, Hazratullah Zazai, has lost his daughter. My heart aches with sorrow for him and his family during this incredibly difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this tragic loss. My deepest condolences go out to Hazratullah Zazai and his family.”

Hazratullah Zazai, who made his international debut in 2016 against the UAE national cricket team has been a key player for Afghanistan cricket team representing the country in 16 ODIs and 45 T20Is.

Despite not being part of Afghanistan's squad for the Champions Trophy 2025 Zazai holds the second-highest individual score in T20I history, with a blistering knock of 162 runs off 62 balls against Ireland cricket team in Dehradun. His explosive innings included 11 fours and 11 sixes, making him one of the most dangerous hitters in the shortest format.

Although Zazai has not played for Afghanistan in 2025 he was last seen in action during the T20I series against Zimbabwe national cricket team in December 2024. At 26, he has already registered one century and five half-centuries in white-ball formats cementing his reputation as a key player in Afghanistan’s cricketing setup.
