Bangladesh and Afghanistan in talks to finalize T20I series in October
Afghanistan were meant to host Bangladesh for a full series that included two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is. But both boards chose to put off the series because they were worried about how much work the players would have to do. Later, ACB suggested that the white-ball series be held in Noida, India, but BCB said that the location wasn't right for an international series.

There are plans for a three-match T20I series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh in October 2025. Both cricket boards have tried many times in the past but have not been able to finalise a bilateral T20I series. But this time, the talks have started up again with a new method.
Cricbuzz says that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) are working on setting up the series as a way to get ready for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held in India.
A senior BCB official revealed, “We have already started our discussion with Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) regarding the series that was postponed earlier and hope to discuss further after Ramadan and we are hoping to play three T20Is as we are considering it as part of our preparation for the T20 World Cup.”
An ACB representative also confirmed the discussions, stating, “I think if you look at the FTP that will give you information there has to be something (a window) in there (from October 2-12) and we are having discussion to finalise the date and itinerary,”

In the end, Bangladesh and Afghanistan played a three-match ODI series in the UAE in November 2023. Now, the focus is on finalising the T20I series. Both boards are also open to rescheduling the Test series whenever it works best for them.
