Aussie young gun Cooper Connolly said he had earned the place at the international level.

Cooper ConnollyAfter making his Test debut in Sri Lanka and opening the innings in the ICC Champions Trophy semifinal Cooper Connolly is back to the Western Australia to push his state's dream to win fourth Sheffield Shield title on the trot.

Connolly said it was his dream to represent Australia at the international level.

"Obviously getting a little taste of it makes you want it more," Connolly told reporters on Friday. 

"Getting my Baggy Green and then to play a game in the Champions Trophy, it was dream come true … hopefully there's plenty more to come."

Australia have been eager to blood him in all three formats.

"I felt like it wasn't really a surprise," Connolly said of his Test debut in which he made 4 in his only hit and bowled just five overs. "I felt like if I was going to play, I'd earned my opportunity. 

"I guess it's just about concentrating on what's in front of me at the moment, not looking too far ahead, and just trying to enjoy playing cricket and hopefully put some scores on the board. 

"Hopefully work on my bowling a bit and get an opportunity again."

Cooper Connolly couldn’t make any impact in those matches he got. He already represented Australia for a sole Test against Sri Lanka and 4 ODI's including the Champions Trophy semifinal outing against India in Dubai and two T20I's.
