The remaining 31 matches of the IPL will be played between September 20 and October 12 in the UAE, just before the start of 2021 T20 World Cup. Bangladesh will be facing England during that time. England are expected to arrive Dhaka by September 20 to play three ODIs (as part of Cricket World Cup Super League) and three T20Is. Hence, Shakib (Kolkta Knight Riders) and Mustafizur (Rajasthan Royals) will not play any further part in the IPL. "Shakib has no chance of playing the remaining IPL matches, because England will be touring Bangladesh for a series at that time. He won't be getting NOC," Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan Papon said. BDCricTime understands that the same will apply for Mustafizur as well. Both the players were allowed to skip Bangladesh's Test tour of Sri Lanka in April-May for IPL. The tournament had to be called off midway with rising infections in India which also gripped the bio-bubbles. BCB had assigned NOCs for Shakib and Mustafizur until May 18, so that they could join Bangladesh camp for Sri Lanka ODIs at home. Bangladeshi players are not the only ones IPL will be missing. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has recently hinted that the English players will not be sent to IPL even if they are rested from national duties as T20 WC and the Ashes will loom. Bangladesh will also host Australia and New Zealand for five T20Is each throughout August and September, marking one of the busiest home seasons in recent times for them.
