Almost all of the teams in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) are getting ready for the next season. Khulna Tigers has also begun putting together a team. They have signed Dhananjaya de Silva and Faheem Ashraf, two foreign players, to straight contracts.

Last time Khulna’s campaign was average. They finished the tournament at no.5 in the table, but could not make it to the playoffs. Although Tamim Iqbal, Yasir Ali, Nasum Ahmed were in the team, they were knocked out of the tournament. However, this time Khulna has started organizing the team quite early.

Among the previous season's cricketers, Tamim Iqbal is no longer the player of Khulna. Long ago he signed for Fortune Barishal in a direct contract. Khulna Tigers have kept Nahidul Islam, Nasum Ahmed and Mahmudul Hasan Joy in the team from previous season. They have also signed two foreign cricketers- Sri Lanka’s Dhananjaya and Pakistan’s Faheem in the team along with three local cricketers.

Dhananjaya is known for hard-hitting in the middle-order. He also bowls off-spin.  On the other hand, pace bowling all-rounder Faheem is basically more skilled as a bowler, he knows how to swing the bat if necessary. They are well-known faces of T20 cricket. Both are seen playing in franchise leagues around the world. These two will be seen in the Khulna jersey in the upcoming season of BPL.

If everything goes well, the next season of BPL will be played in the first week of January 2024 after the national elections. The final will be held in mid-February.
