The last match of the Asia Cup was full of thrill, excitement, and drama. Sometimes India had the upper hand, and sometimes Bangladesh had. Bangladesh got the victory in the end. Batting first, Bangladesh was under a lot of pressure in the beginning. Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy rescued the team from that pressure. Bangladesh got a good total by relying on the pair of 101 runs of the two. Hridoy played a great innings of 54 runs off 81 balls.

Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha praised Hridoy at the end of the match. However, he also said that the expectations from him were more. At the post-match press conference, Hathurusingha said, “He's very clear about his role and his game at present. He's been scoring consistently since his T20 debut. However, I was disappointed with him (Hridoy) today because after reaching fifty, he got out prematurely. He could've played a more substantial inning, but overall, he understands his role and game.”

Besides, Hathurusingha did not forget to praise the tailenders, “The contribution from the tail-enders gave us a real fighting chance. We were around 190 for seven at one point, so this change in performance, with runs from the tail-enders, allowed us to stay in the game longer.”
