The rise of Lahore Qalandars in the PSL is similar to Rishad Hossain's rise as a bowler.  The Bangladeshi leg-spinner is still the best bowler in the 2025 Pakistan Super League, and his most recent game against Karachi Kings made his effect even stronger.

Rishad won the "Superpower of the Day" award, which comes with a PKR 300,000 cash prize, after a spell that changed the game. He took two wickets in the eighth over and finished with three overall.  But that's not all the praise.

Even though Rishad has played one less game than many of his peers, he has taken more wickets than anyone else in the event. This has earned him the famous Fazal Mahmood Cap, which is given to the league's best bowler.

Rishad has taken six wickets at an amazing average of 9.5 in just two games, beating out big names from other teams.  Abrar Ahmed of the Quetta Gladiators is his closest rival. He also has 6 wickets from 2 games, but his average is 12.5, which is better than his.

The other well-known bowler is Jason Holder of Islamabad United. He has taken 5 wickets in two games, but he is still behind in the ranking race.

The Lahore Qalandars' campaign has been saved by Rishad's bowling in the middle overs.  He has become a star in this year's PSL thanks to his powerful leg spin and daring play.

The Fazal Mahmood Cap is named after one of Pakistan cricket's early stars and is given to the player with the most wickets in the league.  He was born in Lahore in 1927 and was a famous right-arm pacer who played in 34 Tests and 112 first-class matches.  He is known as Pakistan's first fast-bowling star and paved the way for future generations of pace bowlers.
