In his first game back after being suspended for months, Nasir Hossain helped Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club beat Gazi Group Cricketers by 8 wickets in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. It was the best way for him to celebrate his return to competitive cricket.

Nasir Hossain was making his return to the game after being suspended for breaking the ICC's anti-corruption code, so the game had special meaning.  After a long break, he came back to bat and scored 9 runs off of 11 balls. It was a big step forward for the experienced all-rounder.

Rupganj Tigers won the toss and chose to bowl first. They took advantage of the weather and bowled out Gazi Group for just 159 runs in 42.1 overs.  The best score for Gazi was 31 runs off of 66 balls by Tahjibul Islam, and the next best score was 24 runs off of 42 balls by Shamim Mia.

The bowlers for Rupganj were sharp and disciplined.  With three wickets, Mohiuddin Tarek led the way. AKM Husna Habib Mehedi and Foysal each took two wickets.  Nasir Hossain, Jibon, and Nuhayel Sandeed all got one wicket each.

The small target was easily reached by the Rupganj Tigers, thanks to a strong starting partnership of 138 runs between Abdul Mazid and Amit Majumder.

Mazid got a steady 53 off of 79 balls, and Amit led the innings with a brilliant 76 off of 98 balls, bringing the team very close to winning.  Nasir added a few runs after they left, and Asadulla Al Galib ended unbeaten on 13 off 9 balls, ending the chase with 99 balls to spare.

The Gazi Group bowlers didn't have much luck. Tofael Ahmed and Abdul Gaffar Saqlain each took one wicket.
