Chennai Super Kings’ legendary wicketkeeper MS Dhoni proved once again why he’s one of the best behind the stumps. The 43-year-old veteran pulled off a stunning stumping to dismiss Mumbai Indians' stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav during the IPL 2025 showdown at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Known for his incredible reflexes Dhoni wasted no time in whipping off the bails after Noor Ahmad bowled a beauty that spun away from the right-hander. Suryakumar charged down the track for a big shot but missed it completely giving Dhoni the perfect opportunity to showcase his trademark quick hands.

The on-field umpire referred the decision upstairs but replays showed Dhoni had already done the damage. It was an easy call for the third umpire, and Suryakumar Yadav had to walk back for 29 off 26 balls.

This dismissal was extra special as Suryakumar Yadav became Dhoni’s 191st victim in the IPL solidifying Dhoni’s position as the wicketkeeper with the most dismissals in league history. Interestingly this was the first time SKY was stumped in the IPL since 2020.

Despite a solid 51-run partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma Mumbai Indians struggled to get going. After Rohit Sharma fell early, the middle order attempted a recovery but CSK’s bowlers kept things tight.

Mumbai Indians managed to post 155/9 in their 20 overs, thanks to a late unbeaten 28-run knock from Deepak Chahar. Noor Ahmad (4 wickets) and Khaleel Ahmed (3 wickets) were the stars with the ball for CSK.
