A 15-strong Irish women's team has been announced for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifying Tournament between April 5-19, 2025.

A 15-strong Irish women's team has been announced for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifying Tournament in Pakistan between April 5-18. Sophie MacMahon and Louise Little are back, with Amy Hunter also coming back to support the batting resources.

Team all-rounder Gaby Lewis will captain the side, with regulars Leah Paul, Arlene Kelly, and the Irish women's most capped player, Laura Delany.

There are also exciting young players in the Irish squad, including Amy Hunter and Kia McCartney, who fared well for the ICC U19 T20 World Cup held in Malaysia this year.

Irish women will leave for a Dubai training camp on March 28. They will then head to Pakistan on April 4 to play warm-up games against West Indies and Thailand women.

Ireland Women Head Coach Ed Joyce stated: "This tournament will be a great challenge to assess the depth of our senior panel, while also working through some players who have been injured over the past few months. With so many games and tournaments on the horizon, it's imperative to create a deeper reservoir of talent to take on the pressures of international cricket.".

Finger-spinner Kia McCartney makes her senior tour debut, and leg-spinner Cara Murray also returns both will feature prominently in a nation where spin bowling plays a big role. Sophie MacMahon and Louise Little are also back having missed the squad over the last few years, and there is also a return for Amy Hunter after injury, which will give our batting a big boost."

"Due to the nature of the competition, it will be an effort by the entire team to get through this qualifier with five 50-over matches and two warm-up matches against strong opponents in a short space of time," he said.
