In the Dhaka Premier League (DPL), Prime Bank Cricket Club beat Agrani Bank by 34 runs at the BKSP Ground No. 4. The game had a lot of runs. Even though Imrul Kayes scored a brave hundred, Agrani Bank failed to score the 321 runs they needed and were bowled out for 287.
Prime Bank won the toss and chose to bat first. Their players made sure they set a challengeable score. Naim Sheikh got off to a fast start, hitting 32 off of 20 balls before leaving with 58 runs already scored.
Then, Sabbir Hossan and Zakir Hasan made a strong stand. Zakir scored 26 runs off of 32 balls, and Sabbir kept playing fiercely. When captain Irfan Sukkur joined Sabbir, things really changed. The attacking shots from both openers made the Agrani Bank spinners nervous. Sabbir smashed his way to a hundred (102 off 121 balls) but was out when the score was 207/3.
Then Irfan took charge, and he and Shahadat Hossain Dipu, who scored 48 runs in 33 balls, formed a partnership that decided the game. The captain, Irfan, stayed until the end and scored a great 107 off of 94 balls, which helped Prime Bank reach a huge 321/3 in 50 overs.
Nayeem Hasan (1 wicket) was Agrani Bank's best bowler.
In their chase for 322, Agrani Bank got off to a good start. Their openers, Pritom Kumar (23 off 16 balls) and Shadman Islam (68 off 82 balls), were careful as they played.
The real fight came from captain Imrul Kayes, who scored 116 runs off of 115 balls and had a great game. Because he was so bold, Agrani Bank stayed in the game.
The chase fell apart, though, when Shadman (203/2) and Imrul (212/3) left. It took 9 wickets for just 85 runs for Agrani Bank to be out for 287 runs.
The best bowler for Prime Bank was Rishad Hossain and Arafat Sunny. They both took 3 wickets.
