The Bangladesh cricket team has returned home after a disappointing World Cup journey. They will return to the field again at the end of this month even if there is no game for now. The Tigers will enter the Test series at home against New Zealand.

Wicket-keeper batter Litton Das got a piece of good news right after the World Cup. He became a father for the first time. Litton and his wife have been blessed with a baby girl. Litton wants to spend time with his wife and children during this time. So he asked BCB for a month's leave. He does not want to play in the two-Test series against New Zealand.

Today BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus while talking to the media said, “Litton has asked for 1 month's leave. He will not play 2 Tests. He wants to give time to his family. He wants to spend time with his family. We offered him not to play the first Test but to play the second. But he said he wants to give time to his wife and children for 1 month. Since we have given him the leave.”

In response to the question whether Litton will play in the tour of New Zealand even if he does not play in the home series, Jalal added, "I have not discussed that. I need to know. Now if a cricketer says on his own that he doesn't want to play or won't play then actually you can't force him to play in the national team. We will look into the matter of visiting New Zealand later.”

Meanwhile, regular captain Shakib Al Hasan will also miss the New Zealand Tests due to injury. Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the side in absence of Shakib.

The first Test of the series in Sylhet is on November 28. And the second Test in Dhaka is on December 6.
