Pakistan's opening batter Usman Khan has been ruled out of the second ODI against due to a hamstring injury. Usman Khan made an eventful ODI debut against New Zealand in Napier, scoring a brisk 39 off 33 balls to begin his ODI journey for Pakistan. Usmam Khan made his ODI debut in the first ODI against the Blackcaps in Napier. He sustained the injury while fielding during the first match, and a subsequent medical scan after the game confirmed a low-grade tear. As a result, he will be unavailable for the second match of the three-match ODI series.
The 29-year-old wasn’t initially part of the ODI squad of Pakistan for the New Zealand series but then was added immediately.
He made an eventful ODI debut, scoring a a fine 39 off just 33 deliveries against the Kiwis.
Pakistan suffered a 73-run defeat in the first ODI against New Zealand in Napier. New Zealand posted a formidable total of 344/9 in their 50 overs, led by a swashbuckling century from Mark Chapman. In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 271 in 44.1 overs, with Babar Azam top-scoring with 78 off 83 balls and some 40's knocks from Abdullah Shafique and Usman Khan.
The second ODI will be held in Hamilton on Wednesday. New Zealand also topped the T20I series, demolishing the tourists by 4-1 in that series.
