The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has informed ICC that they'll not travel to Pakistan for ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Rather India ponder UAE as an optional venue for their matches.

The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be played at three venues in Pakistan between February 19 and March 9. India is however, reluctant to travel to Pakistan and suggesting the ICC for a hybrid model. But the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi had ruled out using a hybrid model. Naqvi was adamant to his stance and made it clear that they would not accept the hybrid model.

Previously in 2023, the Asia Cup was set to be held in Pakistan but India's interference forced their matches to be played in Sri Lanka in a hybrid model.

The Champions Trophy will consist of eight teams, with two groups divided for four teams. The competing teams are Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa. The schedules were set to be released by the next week but due to these developmental issues it is set to be postponed.

As a result of political tensions between the two countries, India have not travelled to Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup despite the latter playing several ICC events in India including the 2011 and 2023 ICC Cricket World Cups.

The sides have played just one bilateral series since then, a white-ball tour Pakistan made back in 2012-13.
