Ellyse Perry is heading back to New South Wales after spending six seasons with Victoria in state cricket.
Despite her international schedule limiting her to just 20 WNCL matches for Victoria, Perry made a big impact; scoring 1052 runs at an impressive average of 75.14 and picking up 13 wickets along the way. Her time with NSW, who go into next season as defending WNCL champions, will again be limited due to national duties.
She’s expected to miss the early part of the season while playing in the ODI World Cup, but there could be a window in January for her to feature before India’s multi-format tour. Throughout her stint with Victoria, Perry has continued to represent the Sydney Sixers in the WBBL.
"The last six years I've spent in Melbourne and at Cricket Victoria have been extremely fond ones and I'm incredibly grateful for all the opportunities and memories that I'll cherish," Perry said.
"I'm really looking forward to being back in Sydney and closer to my family and longtime friends. It's been lovely to stay in touch with CNSW through the Sixers and I feel very fortunate to be walking back into a world class program."
Australia have a relatively quiet winter ahead, with no fixtures scheduled until an away ODI series against India in September ; a series that will serve as preparation for the upcoming World Cup. 4o
