Bangladesh's young fast bowler Nahid Rana is ready to show off his skills in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He has already made waves with his raw speed in international cricket. Fans and past players are already very excited about the coming season, when the growing star will wear the jersey of Peshawar Zalmi.
Earlier this year, Rana's angry spells against Pakistan in Test cricket caught the attention of people all over the world. Because he could regularly hit the ball hard and fast, he was quickly promoted and played in ODIs, the Champions Trophy, and could now make his start in franchise T20 cricket.
Among those impressed by Rana’s rise is veteran Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, who is also playing in the PSL this season. Speaking to Bangladeshi reporters in Pakistan, Malik heaped praise on the young speedster, "What I saw of Rana on TV against Pakistan was really impressive. He’s extremely talented and bowls with serious pace. Staying fit will be crucial for him if he wants to have a long international career and cement his place in Bangladesh’s squad."
Malik further stressed the importance of careful management, saying, "Bangladesh must look after him properly. Fast bowlers who generate such high speeds face heavy workloads, and managing that is key. With the right planning, Rana can become a major asset for Bangladesh cricket."
When asked whether playing in the PSL would benefit Rana, Malik was emphatic, "Absolutely! This league brings together top local and international bowlers. For a young pacer like Rana, it’s a golden opportunity to learn, grow, and gain valuable experience."
Peshawar Zalmi, however, have struggled without Rana’s firepower so far — managing just one win in four games, sitting fourth on the points table with only two points.
