Tamim Iqbal said, “I’m looking forward to it. It’s the biggest tournament in cricket. We had a very good Champions Trophy last year; as a team and as an individual I’m looking forward.”
Denoting how he loves to play in England and appreciating the tremendous support of Bangladeshi fans living in that country, Tamim ushered it feels like home away from home.
“Playing in England is always special. It always feels like a home away from home because there are a lot of Bangladeshis here. We get a lot of support here even in the last Champions Trophy when we were playing against England we had more supporters than England.
“All those kinds of things really excite me. Whenever we come to get an opportunity to play in England, I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
Tamim, not willing to impose much attention upon the pressure phenomenon of the game, said it always be there, “Pressure is always there when you play at home or away, you just need to play well, I think it’s a different format this year around, it’s a league stage instead of a group stage before, it’s a challenging format for us especially when we need to play five or six game to qualify for the semifinals.”
“I think we are getting ready for the challenge. There is still a year to go. The series we have left in hand, we really need to go well to boost confidence bringing to the World Cup,” he added.
Tamim Iqbal further said, “When I come to play I always want to us to win. I can’t be coming without a mindset of not winning the trophy. We can just give our best and let’s hope where we will end up at last.
