Mahmudullah Riyad's time in Bangladeshi cricket is now over for good.  Mahmudullah, one of the most reliable cricketers in the country, has revealed that he is retiring from international cricket after an 18-year run.  Many people are sad about his exit. Fans, friends, and cricketing legends are talking about what he did and wishing him luck in the future.

Mahmudullah had stopped playing Tests and T20Is earlier, but he had kept playing ODIs.  He was in great shape before the Champions Trophy, but Bangladesh's poor showing in the event, along with that of senior players like Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah, led to harsh criticism.  Not long after that, Mushfiqur retired from ODIs in a Facebook post. Now, Mahmudullah has done the same.

Mahmudullah was well-liked by everyone in the locker room and was known as the "Silent Killer" by his friends for his ability to perform well under pressure.  Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who played with him for a long time, wrote an emotional ode to the experienced all-rounder.

Posting a picture with Mahmudullah, Mustafizur wrote on Facebook, "Cricket will miss you, Riyad bhai! Your dedication, hard work, humility and modesty to the game inspired so many."

Expressing gratitude for Mahmudullah’s unwavering support throughout his career, Mustafizur further added, "Thank you for being such a supportive teammate and elder brother. Best wishes for your future journey, Stay blessed."
