After a long time, the Bangladesh team traveled to England. The objective is to play three ODIs against Ireland as part of the ICC ODI Super League. However, there is confusion about whether this series will be telecast on TV screens or not. Bangladeshi viewers may be deprived of watching this series as no Bangladeshi broadcaster has bought the rights of this series yet.
After that news was aired on BDCricTime, concern arose in the mind of the general spectators. However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is discussing with the host board to solve this problem. BCB Chief Executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury is hopeful that the fans will be able to watch this series on TV screens.
While talking to the media on Thursday (May 4), he said, “We have also spoken to the Ireland Cricket Board, and wanted to know which channel will show the game in Bangladesh. They haven't confirmed yet. That's why they didn’t inform me. We will know as soon as possible. Broadcasting is entirely up to the host board. They finalize them. It is their responsibility. I can tell if they confirm. We communicate with them so that the fans can watch the game.”
Earlier, the Bangladesh team's last tour of the West Indies also caused complications with the broadcast. At that time, the fans watched the game online through ICC TV. Will there be any way this time? The BCB official said, “It is a completely different platform and option. We asked them whether the matches will be broadcast on TV or not.”
