A bid for over 500 international cricketers has been submitted in the auction to participate in the forthcoming season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL). Four Bangladeshi cricketers are represented among them: Taskin Ahmed, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Tamim Iqbal. This was revealed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) via press release.

Three individuals from Bangladesh were given the opportunity to participate in the final season of the LPL: Shakib Al Hasan, Towhid Hriday, and Shoriful Islam. None of these three cricketers, however, enrolled for the auction this year. In the auction, Najmul Hossain Shanto, captain of the national team, will be included alongside two veterans, Mushfiqur and Tamim. In addition, the name of pacer Taskin Ahmed will be included in the auction.

This time, cricket players from 24 different countries have put their names in the LPL auction. Where cricket players from every ICC full member country can be found. Usman Khawaja, Tabraiz Shamsi, Reece Topley, Evin Lewis, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Shai Hope, Tim Southee, Jimmy Neesham, Mark Chapman are among the prominent cricketers who have registered for the auction. They have been doing great in T20 cricket for a long time.

The date of the auction has not yet been disclosed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). The Lanka Premier League's fifth season will begin on July 1 and end on July 21. Five teams will play again this year.
