Cricket coach and analyst Nazmul Abedin Fahim wants to reform the country's cricket. After the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the reform program is going on in various institutions. Nazmul Abedin Fahim is also preparing the outline of reforms in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The cricket board is Fahim's big dream. He also worked in BCB previously. According to him, many people in the country and outside the country can work on the cricket board.

Fahim said, "It's not about me. For those who truly care about cricket, and consider how cricket represents Bangladesh on the global stage, there's no room for shortcuts here. The presence of the right individuals is crucial. We have capable people in our country, and there are many experienced individuals abroad as well. If some thought is given to involving them, they will strive to take Bangladesh cricket forward in their own way.

"They certainly won't see joining the cricket board as a privilege; they will take it as a responsibility. Here, we often see celebrities, but we don't see enough people who get the work done. These are the people who mean business."

Fahim wants to dream big with the cricket board. He wants transparency and accountability. "I believe the biggest responsibility lies with the leadership. If the leadership is strong, everything else falls into place naturally. There are many legal matters related to ICC regulations, and if we talk about reforms... We need a board led by a good leader, someone with a vision and big dreams. Transparency and accountability are essential, and those qualities should be present. We have many capable individuals in our country who haven't had the opportunity to contribute for a long time.

"This (guideline for reform) is something we have pondered over for years, especially myself. We've considered where we could make progress, where the gaps are, and what resources we have to overcome those challenges. In the future, I may discuss these further - identifying areas where we are lagging behind, even though there's no reason for us to be.”

Dr. Under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus, an interim government has been formed in which Asif Mahmud, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Fahim is also willing to sit with interim advisor for the sake of improvement. "Absolutely. If there's an opportunity to provide input, I would definitely participate (to discuss about the reform). It's not just about my opinion as we need to gather ideas from those who are knowledgeable in these matters. This makes decision-making easier," he further said.

"If I do something formally, I will certainly discuss it (with cricketers). I would aim to present a comprehensive outline that could assist those currently in charge. But again, I want to emphasise that this isn't about me. As for the advisors you mentioned, they want to fix the system. Those who can efficiently manage the system are the ones qualified to be on the cricket board.”
