Tamim Iqbal in stable condition after heart surgery, BCB seeks prayers
During the match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club, Tamim said he had chest pain. At first, he thought it was just a gastric issue and tried to keep playing. But his condition got worse, so he had to be rushed to KPJ Hospital, where an ultrasound showed that an artery was stopped. To get the blood flow back to normal, a stent (ring) was put in place.

Fans of Bangladeshi cricket can finally take a sigh of relief now that Tamim Iqbal is awake again after having a heart attack at BKSP during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match on Monday. He is now safe and getting better in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at KPJ Specialised Hospital in Savar.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has issued an official statement thanking the medical team at BKSP and KPJ Hospital for their swift action. "We express our deepest gratitude to the doctors and specialists who acted promptly during this critical moment. The outpouring of love and concern for Tamim reflects the deep respect and admiration the nation holds for him,” said BCB president Faruque Ahmed
BCB also confirmed that the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Youth & Sports, and National Sports Council are closely monitoring Tamim’s condition.
As thousands of fans anxiously await updates, BCB has requested supporters to avoid gathering at the hospital, as it may disrupt medical care. "Tamim’s condition will be updated through official channels. The board and his family request the entire nation to keep him in their prayers."
Cricketers and fans worldwide have poured in their well wishes and prayers for Tamim’s swift recovery. Lasith Malinga, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and various international players have sent messages of support.
