The waiting for resumption of cricket is already over. Bangladesh will leave the country on September 23 to play the first Test against Sri Lanka on October 24. That is why cricketers are preparing themselves. Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal has also joined. Although he felt a little uncomfortable to adjust to the field after Corona, he is looking positive.
After Corona, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has given the opportunity to the cricketers to come to the field and practice privately from July 19. Initially, 13 cricketers joined the team. The number has increased after Eid this month. The ODI captain has returned to practice from the third phase which started yesterday (August 16).
Returning to the field after a long absence, Tamim has practiced for the second day today. He is preparing himself before the tour of Lanka. After practice on Monday, Tamim said it could take a week to adjust to on-field cricket. However, the way everything is going according to the rules, it looks positive to this opener.
In a video message from the BCB, Tamim said,
"I started practicing after a long time. After about four-five months. Back then I thought there would be a bit of a problem with the batting, but surprisingly not so much, it’s pretty much okay. Fitness is fairly good. But the treadmill says or doing (practice) in the sun is a little different from what I do at home."
Tamim believes that after a week he will be able to put himself in a better place. "It
may take a week to adjust. After a week I will be in a better place. But the way we are doing everything according to the rules, I feel positive."
"Hopefully we will continue like this. Now that we know we have a date, we know when our game will start. So everyone is preparing like everyone else, ”
he added.
