Sylhet to host matches in the upcoming BPL

Cricket is all set to be back in Sylhet as Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is announced as one of the venues for the upcoming season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). A new franchise for Sylhet will also take part in the BPL this year. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুন বিপিএলে বাড়ছে দল ও ভেন্যু সংখ্যা] Sheikh Sohel, one of the members of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) governing council, has confirmed the news, on Saturday. "After Dhaka and Chittagong, this year Sylhet will also host matches for the first time," Sohel told the media. Sohel also confirmed the participation of Sylhet franchise in the upcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League which is scheduled to be started in December, later this year andb the finance minister of Bangladesh government, Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will take the responsibility for Sylhet. "Last year we did not let Sylhet play because no responsibly person were found . But this year finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has taken all the responsibilities for. So we hope Sylhet will participate in this year's BPL, having a quality team," Sohel said. However, Sheikh Sohel did not clear which company will take the responsibility of Sylhet franchise. To be mentioned, Sylhet could not participate in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) last year, due to financial problem with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)
