A couple of records were made in the Indian Premier League (IPL) yesterday. After father, Sachin Tendulkar, son Arjun Tendulkar put on the jersey of Mumbai Indians. Besides, two twin brothers from South Africa also gained experience playing in IPL.

Mumbai Indians took on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the day’s first match on Sunday. Sachin's son Arjun Tendulkar made his debut for Mumbai in that match. Father Sachin played for Mumbai previously. Sachin, who retired a long ago, is now in the dugout of Mumbai, as a consultant for the team. This is the first time that a son played in the IPL after the father. Arjun conceded 17 runs in 2 overs without getting any wicket in the debut match.

Like the Tendulkar family, the Jansen family also entered the record books. Marco Jansen's twin brother Duan Jansen also made his IPL debut, in the Mumbai Indians jersey. Marco is playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season but made his debut in Mumbai. However, left-arm pacer Duan Jansen was a bit expensive today. Despite taking the wicket of Rinku Singh, Duan conceded 53 runs in 4 overs. This was the first time that twin brothers played in the IPL.

Mumbai Indians won the match. Destructive innings by Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav led Mumbai to a 5-wicket victory.
