Pacer Mitchell Starc displays the fiery fast-bowling show in the morning of the fourth day and Michael Neser accompanies him properly to ensure a crushing 419-run win for Australia against West Indies on Sunday (December 11) in Adelaide. With the win, Australia complete a series whitewash by 2-0.

Resuming the day on 38/4, West Indies were horrible in batting while Starc was on song from the first delivery of the day which resulted in the two quick wickets of Devon Thomas and Jason Holder. After that, Joshua Da Silva and Roston Chase tried to tackle the blow but Neser’s three wickets and Lyon’s one wicket confirmed West Indies lost their last four wickets for 8 runs and were bundled out for just 77 runs in 40.5 overs. Starc, Neser, and Scott Boland all took three wickets each for the hosts.

This is West Indies’ lowest-ever total in Australia and their biggest defeat ever by runs.

Earlier, Australia put on a mammoth 511-run total in the first innings with the help of Marnus Labuschagne’s 163-run innings and Travis Head’s 175-run innings. In reply, West Indies scored just 214 runs. Taking the lead of 297 runs, Australia batted again and gave the visitors a huge 497-run target.

Labuschagne was adjudged Player of the Series for his 502 runs in 2 matches with an average of 167.33 with one double-century and two centuries. This is the highest runs scored by an Australian in a two-match Test series.
