Partex Sporting Club beat Shinepukur Cricket Club by 19 runs in a close Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match that took place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on a day without rain but full of action. Rubel Mia was the star of the game with a brilliant hundred that held up the innings. Shinepukur's collapse in the late innings ruined a promising chase.
Shinepukur won the toss and chose to bowl first. They wanted to get off to a good start, and they did. The first batter, Moinul Islam, was out for just 5 runs with 13 runs. Even Adil's batting didn't last long. Things changed when Rubel Mia and Mohammad Rakib put together a steady 122-run partnership for the third wicket.
Rakib made a good 47, and Ahrar Amin added 37 off 49 balls in the middle overs. But Rubel Mia's innings was the best. He played a steady, well-paced knock of 100 off 120 balls, hitting 8 fours and 2 sixes. Before he fell late in the innings, he held the innings together.
Partex scored 264/7 in 50 overs, which was a good score thanks to late bursts from Sabbir Rahman (27 off 15) and Mukhtar Ali (14 off 7). Shahin Alam of Shinepukur did a great job with the ball and took 3 wickets.
Shinepukur started off strong as they chased 265. Moinul Islam and Neon Zaman scored 73 runs together as the first two batters. Moinul was very bold; he hit 45 off of 27 balls. When Rayan Rafsan hit 59 off of 83 balls, which included five fours and two sixes, the innings looked like it was going to be fine. Shahriar Sakib helped with a tough 49 off 71 balls.
After a steady start, though, the innings fell apart under pressure. Shinepukur was in a good place until they lost their last six wickets for only eight runs. This turned the match around. Partex's bowlers were very calm in the last few overs, which sealed a 19-run win and left Shinepukur speechless.
