McDermott and Saker to return Sri Lanka in June

Shane Mcdermott and David Saker, the two members of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) coaching staff are likely to return to Sri Lanka in the first week of June.

According to the sources in Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), fielding coach Mcdermott and fast bowling coach Saker, who returned to
on the last day just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country, have been asked to return on June 1 subject to availability of flights.
“Mcdermott and Saker will, however, not be able to coach the Sri Lankan players during the first phase of their training as both will be required to go on a 14-day quarantine period,”
the source said.
If the coronavirus situation does not worsen further in the country, the Sri Lankan cricketers will start their group residential training from June 1. The training of group players may be supervised by Head Coach Mickey Arthur and/or training staff at the venue.
According to the sources, Ministry of Sports (MOS) has issued a 12-page guide lines (seen by this reporter) in five different phases for different athletes and the cricketers will be put in Phase 4, titled as
“Group Residential Training with the coach and supporting staff at the venue”
