When word got out about Tamim's death, his family, including his wife Ayesha Siddiqa and brother Nafees Iqbal, went to the hospital. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) even called off a board meeting that was supposed to happen while officials and players met to check on Tamim's health.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Tamim’s former captain and longtime teammate, expressed his deep concern via social media. On his official Facebook page, Mashrafe wrote, "May Almighty Allah be with you, Tamim. Get well soon and return to us, Inshallah."
He also posted a personal note, saying, "I couldn’t come to see you, brother. May Allah protect you. Hoping for your speedy recovery, InshaAllah."
After hours of nervous waiting, Tamim woke up and called his family, which made his fans and teammates feel better.
