Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fielding coach Jonty Rhodes has expressed interest in acquiring Rohit Sharma if the Mumbai Indians captain enters the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auction.

Rhodes spoke highly of Sharma, labelling him a talented player, and suggested that LSG would be eager to have him on their roster. "If Rohit Sharma comes into the auction, LSG is ready to welcome him. He’s such a great player, every team will be glad to go for him," Rhodes said in an interview with News24.

Rohit Sharma, a key player for the Mumbai Indians since 2011, has been the subject of much speculation about his future with the team. Recent sources claim that he fell out with the Mumbai Indians management, leading to Hardik Pandya taking over as captain for the IPL 2024 season. These events have sparked speculation that Sharma would enter the forthcoming mega auction, making him one of the most talked-about players in the last and upcoming seasons. 

Rohit Sharma’s career with the Mumbai Indians has been nothing short of legendary. Over 199 matches, he has scored 5,084 runs at an average of 29.39 and a strike rate of 129.86. Sharma’s record includes one century and 34 half-centuries, with his highest score being an unbeaten 109. His leadership and batting prowess have been instrumental in the Mumbai Indians' (MI) success over the years, including multiple Indian Premier League (IPL) titles.
